The Fall - Genesis 2-3

Teaches that God created all of us, and all of us sin. God's grace through giving his Son Jesus is the only way we can be free from that sin. The key verse is "And the LORD God commanded the man, 'You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.'" (Genesis 2:16-17)

The Flood - Genesis 6-9

Teaches that God made a promise (covenant) with Noah to never destroy the earth again. That promise is for us, too. The key verse is "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." (Genesis 9:13)

Abraham Follows God - Genesis 11:27-12:10, 15:5

Teaches that the Lord chose Abram and Abram followed, showing the world that there is One True God, Yahweh, and he wants to have a personal relationship with his people. Sodom and Gomorrah - Genesis 19:1-29

Teaches that sin is going against what the Lord has told us to do or not do, and the punishment for it is death if we do not turn away from it and ask forgiveness. The key verse is "As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, 'Flee for your lives! Don't look back, and don't stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!'" (Genesis 19:17)

The Testing of Abraham - Genesis 22:1-18

Teaches that Abraham was tested by God to sacrifice his only son, but God provided another way and blessed Abraham for not withholding his son. The key verse is "The angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time and said, 'I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you...'"
